Occupational Therapy Students and Chair Honored by Virginia Occu

Members of our Department of Occupational Therapy were honored during the Virginia Occupational Therapy Associations Annual Awards Ceremony in October. Two VCU occupational therapy students were recognized.

Molly Gupta received the VOTA Centennial Award

Cara Harman received the VOTA OT Student Award.

Carole Ivey, chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy, received the VOTA Award of Merit- Educator Award. Dr. Ivey was nominated by her students, who said “she has always been an incredible professor, but the past year has shown what a truly incredible person she is.  She has used her Occupational Therapy skills to create normalcy for students in the midst of a pandemic, taken on every role asked or needed of her, and gone above and beyond to support students and faculty through endless changes. She is so deserving of this award for the impact she has made on the next generation of Occupational Therapists, as well as the hard work and dedication she gives to all her many roles and responsibilities.”
