Andelin leads national sensory integration section
Lauren Andelin, OTD, OTR/L, BCP, serves as chair of AOTA’s Sensory Integration and Processing Special Interest Section (SIPSIS), leading a national community committed to advancing best practices in sensory integration and processing.
In this role, she collaborates with an eight-member committee and student interns to coordinate mentorship programming, develop evidence-based resource libraries, host quarterly practice chats and journal clubs, and respond to member questions. During her first two years as chair, she guided the team in publishing a quarterly article on technology and self-regulation, and led a highly attended AOTA conference short course aimed at clarifying foundational sensory integration concepts for practitioners.
As she enters her final year in this leadership role, Andelin continues to expand SIPSIS initiatives - including the infographic library and the newly piloted microsite - to support and educate occupational therapy practitioners across the country.
